My Ode to Kim King

Kim King

It’s been twenty years since I’ve seen your face,
heard your voice,
felt your embrace.

Twenty years since I’ve smelled your cologne.
Twenty years now you’ve been gone.

For twenty years I’ve cleaned your grave.
I’ve missed your smile, laughter,
and your grace.

I miss the jangle of your spurs,
dancing as your record turns.

I order whiskey from the bar.
A candle’s lit,
scent of Drakkar.

I gaze up at the waxing moon
knowing I’ll be with you soon.

I'm not a writer and I tend not to talk about myself. But, I guess I'm going to write.. probably about myself.
